Day 1: Arrival In Prague
Upon arrival at Prague airport, a driver will meet you and drive you to your centrally located hotel. Following check-in, head out and begin discovering Prague with the help of your detailed full itinerary. Visit the Old Town Square with highlights including the Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church and a host of beautiful examples of Baroque & Gothic architecture.
Day 2: Private Walking Tour and Sightseeing Prague
This morning our guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on a 3 hour private walking tour where you’ll trace the Royal Coronation Route covering highlights such as Charles Bridge, Prague’s Castle and the charming Little Quarter (Mala Strana).
In the afternoon you are free to further explore the Prague Castle district and St Vitus Cathedral. Usinng your detailed itinerary, you can also explore the charming Little Quarter further and stop by some of the sights you may have passed by during your tour earlier today.
Day 3: "Real" Prague Cycling Trip
Prague isn’t just a tourist destination, over 1.2 million people live here too. See everyday life in this entry-level cycling tour, combining Communist and current art and architecture, modern shopping centers, wooded valleys and ancient volcanoes.
In the afternoon return to Prague and explore the New Town district also called "Nove Mesto". Famous for its shopping and myriad of restaurants, you'll also find the famous Wencelas Square, Dancing House and one of the world’s most beautiful art-nouveau buildings - the Municipal House.
Day 4: Guided Hike to Krivoklát Castle
In the densely-forested hills west of Prague the dramatic castle of Krivoklát rises above a narrow stream valley. Today our guide will collect you from your hotel and take you on an adventure, starting with a train through the countryside.
Then you'll spend the morning light hiking through the woodlands and visit this historical castle. In the afternoon, your guide will escort you back to Prague where you are then free to explore an off the beaten track neighbourhood called Žižkov. Here you can see sights including the controversial Television Tower adorned with iron babies, sculptures made by Czech artists David Cerny.
Žižkov’s unofficial currency is beer, which flows through its charmingly old school pubs as well as the new upstart trendy bars that are beginning to take seed there. Spend some time here and enjoy an evening "local style".
Day 5: Bus Journey to Cesky Krumlov
This morning you will board a coach for a scenic journey through the Czech countryside to Cesky Krumlov, a small Bohemian town close to the border of Austria. Enjoy an afternoon exploring its glorious castle and explore the narrow streets and ancient homes before a private guided walking tour with our knowledgable guide who can provide you with plenty of facts and history of Cesky Krumlov.
Day 6: Rafting or Canoe Trip on the Vltava River
Canoeing or rafting down the Vltava River is a delightfully relaxing way to see Ceský Krumlov and to experience its pretty natural surroundings. Today you'll spend the morning passes the u bend of Cesky Krumlov and drifting through meadows and forests.
In the afternoon you can return to Cesky Krumlov and spend the afternoon sitting by the river or taking in the atmosphere from the main square.
Day 7: Shuttle Trip from Ceský Krumlov to Salzburg
A shuttle service will pick you up directly from your hotel in Ceský Krumlov and take you directly to your hotel in Salzburg, Your scenic journey to Salzburg should take about three and a half hours. After arrival, you are free to head off and explore Salzburg using your detailed itinerary for guidance. For this afternoon, we have suggested heading up to the Hohensalzburg Fortress where you can take a short finicular ride to the top of the castle, explore the interiors and enjoy the most breathtaking views of the surrounding Alpine Mountains!
In the evening take a relaxing stroll back down or the finicular to the Altstadt, where atmospheric squares, grand fountains and magnificent churches await your discovery. It is also the perfect spot to enjoy dinner, surrounded by stunning architecture and an abudance of history!
Day 8: Salzburg Walking Tour & Sightseeing
Salzburg is simply overwhelming in all the best ways. On your private guided walking tour you will discover its vibrant culture, history and how Salzburg become synonymous with classical music. You will see Mozart’s birthplace and hear his story, and see the site of the world’s most famous musical festival, which many visitors will recall from the Sound of Music.
In the afternoon, can take a bus from Salzburg to the base of the Untersberg Mountain and take an exhilarating cable lift ride all the way to the limestone summit. There you will find a stupendous view of the Alps spread out before you, and if you feel like wandering a bit, a network of rocky trails spreads out from the summit.
In the evening, return to Salzburg and use your itinerary to explore the Neustadt area of the city with its hundreds of years of history in it’s winding and narrow Medieval lanes.
Day 9: Konigssee Lake and Berchtesgaden
It is hard not to miss the dominating Alps that surround the beautiful city of Salzburg. So today, you’ll head towards the mountains by bus, cross the border into Germany and visit the scenic Konigssee Lake. Take the boat across the lake and spend the day enjoy the fresh air, mountain vistas and if you're the active and adventurous kind, take a hike through the forests for even more spectacular views.
Late afternoon, you can take the bus back to the charming Bavarian town of Berchtesgarden. Here you can wander around its quaint narrow streets, explore its churches, market squares and medieval palace.
Day 10: Rail Journey to Vienna
This morning, take a taxi to Salzburg’s main train station for your rail journey to Vienna. Once you have settled in to your centrally located hotel, our guide will meet you for a private walking tour of Vienna's historical Inner City area. You will discover how Vienna’s early inhabitants lived and how they left their mark on the city and its beautiful Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture.
After your tour, you are free to further explore this beautiful area of the city using the directions and suggestions in your detailed itinerary.
Day 11: Vienna Sightseeing
Today you are at leisure in Vienna. We suggest using your itinerary and heading to the Imperial heart of Vienna and beginning your day with a visit to the official former residence of the Hapsburg Dynasty. Visit the famous Spanish Riding School, the Imperial apartments or the crown treasures.
In the afternoon, discover the highlights of the Ringstrasse, including the City Hall, Natural History Museum, Art History Museum and the Albertina and for those with plenty of energy left, adventure out of the city to the Kahlenberg Viewpoint and enjoy a late afternoon hike. In the evening, wine lovers will delight in a short trip to Grinzing, a place to enjoy warm evenings drinking wine, listen to musicians play traditional Viennese tunes (Wienerlieder), and enjoy each other’s conversation and company.
Day 12: Guided Cycling Trip and Boat Trip in the Danube’s Wachau Valley
The Wachau Valley is widely considered the most beautiful stretch of river in the entire Danube. On this full day guided excursion you will experience it in two different but equally enjoyable ways - on bicycle and by boat! You will start your journey from Vienna, taking a train to the picturesque town of Melk. There you will pick up your bikes and board the boat for your scenic cruise.
From the boat you can enjoy a glass of wine or beer as you relax and take in the scenery without needing to pedal. Upon reaching the picturesque town of Spitz, you will debark from the boat and begin cycling to the historic town of Krems. Late in the afternoon, you will return to Vienna by train and spend your final evening in Vienna in the Spittelberg area. Its narrow lanes are filled with pleasant traditional restaurants and bars.
Day 13: Departure from Vienna
Today you say goodbye to Vienna and journey home. To reach the airport, you can book a self arranged taxi directly with your hotel.
