Day 1: Arrival In Prague
Upon arrival at Prague airport, a driver will meet you and drive you to your centrally located hotel. Following check-in, venture out and begin discovering Prague’s highlights with a visit to the Old Town Square. Sat at the heart of the city’s historical centre, highlights include the Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church and a host of beautiful examples of Baroque & Gothic architecture. In the evening, a guide will meet you and accompany you to a river boat for an enjoyable river cruise experience along the Vltava River.
Day 2: Sightseeing Prague & Private Walking Tour
This morning, a guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on a 3 hour private walking tour where you’ll trace the Royal Coronation Route covering highlights such as Charles Bridge, Prague’s Castle and the charming Little Quarter (Mala Strana).
After your tour, your free to discover the Castle’s interior and palace, visit the Strahov Monastery with its world famous library and brewery or head back down hill and explore the enchanting streets of the Little Quarter. You’ll find John Lennon’s wall, the Wallenstein Palace Gardens and the peaceful park of Kampa Garden.
Day 3: Prague at Your Leisure
Today you’re free to discover the wonderful gems of Prague by yourselves. We have provided you with some suggestions of place to visit, including the historical Jewish Quarter and the vibrant New Town. In the evening, treat yourselves to a cultural concert or visit to the theatre. We have plenty of suggestions!
Day 4: Day Trip to Karlštejn
Today you'll travel by train to the Czech Republic's most famous castle, Karlstejn. Nestled in the countryside out of Prague, this picturesque, fairytale styled castle was once the summer residence of Charles IV. Spend time exploring its interiors, enjoying the country views or simply taking in the atmosphere from one of the many bars and restaurants along the route.
In the afternoon, head back to Prague and discover the historical Vysehrad Fort, with beautiful views of the city, peaceful park like grounds and the Abbey of St Peter & Paul.
Day 5: Rail Journey from Prague to Vienna
This morning you will be transfer to Prague’s Central Station for your train journey to Vienna. After arrival in Vienna, you might consider venturing into the Inner City, where highlights such as the Gothic Cathedral of St Stephan and the medieval alleyways and narrow lanes await you. In the evening, enjoy a private guided walking tour of the historical Inner City.
Day 6: Vienna at Leisure
Today you are at leisure in Vienna. We suggest heading to the Imperial heart of Vienna and beginning your day with a visit to the official former residence of the Hapsburg Dynasty. Visit the famous Spanish Riding School, the Imperial apartments or the crown treasures.
In the afternoon, uncover two of Vienna’s treasures with a visit to the Karlskirche and the Belvedere Palace, home to the masterpieces of Gustav Klimt. In the evening, take a short train journey to the village of Grinzing, known for its wine taverns and warm hospitality.
Day 7: Vienna at Leisure
Today, explore the former residence of the Empress Maria Theresa with a visit to Schonbrunn Palace. Explore its formal gardens, impressive staterooms and if you have children you will want to visit the labyrinth and the world class zoo.
In the afternoon, discover the highlights of the Ringstrasse, including the City Hall, Natural History Museum, Art History Museum and the Albertina. This evening, venture into the narrow lanes of the Spittelberg Quarter full of bars, restaurants, craft shops and art galleries.
Day 8: Rail Journey from Vienna to Budapest
Travel to the rail station by taxi to take your three hour train ride to Budapest. On arrival, a driver will collect you and take you to your centrally located hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the bustling Vásárcsarnok Market Hall and the remarkable splendours to be found in Central Pest.
Day 9: Sightseeing in Budapest
This morning a guide will meet you at your hotel and take you to some of Budapest’s top sights, providing the perfect introduction to the city. In the afternoon, you’re free to spend time exploring the Castle Hill District on the colourful Buda side of the city. In the evening choose to take a relaxing and scenic cruise along the Danube.
Day 10: Budapest With Trip to Szentendre (St. Andrew)
This morning, explore the magnificent sight that is the Hungarian Parliament Building and take a tour through its grand interior. In the afternoon, head to the charming town of Szentendre for an afternoon of discovering its idyllic village atmosphere.
Day 11: Budapest at Leisure
Today is another day at your leisure. We suggest exploring the Széchenyi Baths, the largest and most popular of thermal baths in Budapest. From here, walk down the famous Andrassy Avenue, home to the Heroes’ Square, State Opera House and the House of Terror Museum. In the evening, head to the National Museum for a chance to see previous artefacts and gain an insight into Hungary’s past.
Day 12: Departure from Budapest
Today you say goodbye to Budapest and journey home. To reach the airport, you can book a self arranged taxi directly with your hotel.
