Petr Skarka

I am originally from Prague and I've lived most of my life in the city, but that hasn't stopped me from exploring much of the world. I've hitchhiked through the Amazon, guided travelers in New Zealand, won kayak fishing tournaments in Sweden, played music in the pubs of Ireland, and bicycled across southern Europe. To me, traveling is about much more than where you go - it's about what you experience along the way.

Today I work as a sort of jack-of-all-trades for Go Real Europe, helping with the day-to-day management of the company. But my most enjoyable work is leading travelers on hiking and cycling trips in the countryside around Prague. This is my chance to give our clients an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives. And I also enjoy showing them what daily life in the Czech Republic is like.

Travel is not something I take for granted. As a student I protested against the Communist government, partly because I knew that ending the regime was our only chance to experience the freedom of travel that those in the West enjoyed. That is why being able to help travelers from the West explore the Czech Republic has a special significance and meaning for me. I hope I will see you here!
