Day 1: Arrival in Prague
On arrival at Prague airport, one of our drivers will be waiting in arrivals for you to drive you to your selected hotel in the center of Prague. Once you've checked in, head straight out and begin exploring Prague! Its first and best highlight lies at the epicenter of the city; Prague's Old Town Square. Marvel at the beautiful examples of Baroque and Gothic architecture; visit the famous Tyn Church and watch as the Astronomical Clock comes to life every hour on the hour!
Day 2: Private walking tour & sightseeing
Start your first full day in Prague off with a 3 hour private guided walking tour of the city. On your tour you'll trace the famous Royal Coronation Route that features some of Prague's top highlights. You'll visit Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and the city's charming Mala Strana (Little Quarter). After your tour you are free to visit the Castle's interior, St Vitus Cathedral or Strahov Monastery where the world famous library and brewery is located. You may also wish to explore the Little Quarter and stop by some of the previous sights you passed on your tour.
Day 3: Prague's Jewish Quarter & New Town
Today head out to explore some of Prague’s other sights, including the historical Jewish Quarter, home six synagogues, and the somber Jewish cemetery. In the afternoon, visit magical Vysehrad and its vast park and basilica before venturing into the city’s most popular neighborhood, Vinohrady. Here you’ll find a multitude of great restaurants, bars and some beautiful examples of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Gothic architecture.
Day 4: Journey to Vienna
Today you’ll journey four hours by train from Prague to Vienna. When you arrive in Vienna, take a taxi to your hotel and unpack before our guide meets you for an introductory walking tour of Vienna’s historic Inner City. Here you’ll find the Gothic Cathedral of St. Stephen and numerous bars, cafes, shops, and restaurants to explore after your tour.
Day 5: Vienna Sightseeing
Begin your day discovering Vienna’s most popular area that we called Imperial Vienna. Here you’ll be able to visit sights including the famous Hofburg Palace, the 500-year-old Spanish Riding School, and its famous Lipizzaner Stallions as well as opportunities to visit the Sisi Museum or Imperial Treasury. In the afternoon, explore the Ringstrasse, the large ring road that encircles the historical center of Vienna. Here you can visit the Austrian Parliament building, Vienna’s city hall, and the superb and not to be missed Art History and Natural History museums. For those still bursting with energy, you can visit the Spittelberg district in the evening where you can find an array of restaurants and bars.
Day 6: Schönbrunn Palace
As one of Vienna’s most popular attractions, Schönbrunn Palace should not be missed! Take a tour of its grand interiors, wander its impressive formal gardens and if you have children, you’ll want to explore the labyrinth and the world-class Schönbrunn Zoo.
In the afternoon, head back into the center of Vienna and visit the Karlskirche, one of Vienna’s most impressive churches. Take a quick elevator ride to the top of its dome for breath-taking views over the city before heading to Grinzing, Vienna’s own wine village located on the outskirts of the city, just a short metro ride from the center. Here you can enjoy a local dish paired with a locally grown wine, we highly recommend it!
Day 7: Journey to Budapest
Another train journey today, this time we are heading to the Pearl of the Danube and the capital of Hungary, Budapest! Arriving shortly after lunchtime, you’ll be met by one of our drivers and driven to your selected hotel in the center of Budapest. Enjoy a leisurely lunch before diving into some of Budapest’s top sights including St Stephens Basilica and the famous Chain Bridge that spans the width of the mighty Danube River. In the evening, take an option river cruise along the Danube for an opportunity to see the city from a different perspective.
Day 8: Private Guided Walking Tour & Sightseeing
Today you’ll start your day with a 3 and half hour private guided walking tour of the highlights of Budapest. Along the way you’ll pass from the Pest side of the city to Buda, home to the Budapest Castle district, the Fisherman’s Bastion and St. Matthias Church. After your tour, you are free to further explore the Castle District and for the adventurous, you may wish to climb to the top of Gellert Hill for fantastic views over Budapest, especially good at sunset! For those who want to relax, head down to Gellert Bath House and take a tip in one of Budapest’s most famous thermal bath houses.
Day 9: Journey to Ljubljana
Bid farewell to Budapest and take the last train journey of this trip south to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Upon arrival at the rail station, our driver will meet you and take you to your hotel. After you’ve checked in, you can head out and begin exploring Ljubljana’s small but charming old town. Be sure to visit Prešernov Trg, the pulsing heart of the city center and the most famous sight in Ljubljana, the enchanting Triple Bridge.
Day 10: Private Guided Walking Tour & Sightseeing
Start your exploration of Ljubljana with a two-hour private guided walking tour of the city. Visit the city’s best-known sights, the famous outdoor market, and marvel at some of the beautiful Secessionist architecture. In the afternoon, you may want to venture up to the city’s largest attraction, Ljubljana Castle. Go on foot or take the modern funicular to the top where you’ll find an interesting exhibition on Slovenian history. You can also climb the clock tower for rewarding views over the city.
Day 11: Lake Bled
With its dark turquoise waters and its picturesque island, Lake Bled is one of Slovenia’s most popular destinations. Today, you’ll travel to Lake Bled by train for a day trip and spend the day exploring the delights that surround this beautiful lake. Upon arrival, you may wish to take a gondola across the lake to the island, explore the perimeter of the lake by bicycle or tuck into the infamous Bled Cream Cake in one of the many cafes.
Day 12: Departure
Today you say goodbye to Ljubljana and journey home. To reach the airport, you can book a self-arranged taxi directly with your hotel. If you wish to extend your trip further, contact your personal Travel Consultant.
